Encouraging Words to Build You Up Keep You Going…
It's funny how certain words people say have a way of sticking
with you forever…Often times it's the "not-so-encouraging"
words that tend to stick the easiest…but how wonderful when
we encounter a piece of encouragement that spurs us on in
such a way that we are never the same again.
I had an experience with such "words" back in college. I
was in a meeting where someone (Jeff Jansen…thank you oh so
much) said, "There are only 2 things of eternal value…God
and people…Invest yourself in that!" I cannot tell you how
those words resonated as truth in my heart and became a significant
part of my life's call…to invest my life in what is of eternal
value…and what great dividends my investment has yielded!
Sometimes I feel like the wealthiest person in the world…But
it is not because of my material position. It is because of
how full my heart is due to my actual relationship with God
and our daily interaction, and my relationships with people.
They are the true, fascinating treasures in this world! And
as we invest in people, such wealth springs up in our hearts…the
wealth of joy, peace, and love.
I encourage you this month to ask God to increase your capacity
to love…to love Him and others…and to give you unique and
creative ways to show it! Bless and encourage someone else
today. Invest in what is of eternal value and enjoy the dividends…immediate
and long term!
